a) How can I measure the dimensions of the mattress?

We always measure the dimensions of the mattress for length and width from rail to rail in cm. (Fig. 1)

b) How can I measure the height of the mattress?

Instructions: Take a small rectangular piece of wood or metal that is usually used to draw straight lines and place it width-wise on the mattress. Take the tape measure or a ruler and measure the height of the mattress from the rail at the base to the rectangular piece of wood or metal that you placed width-wise to find the final height. (Fig.2) It is very important that the measurement is made 8-10 hours after the last use of the mattress.

c) Measurement of visible permanent retreat of the mattresss surface beyond 2 cm (Fig. 3)

Instructions: Take a small rectangular piece of wood or metal that is usually used to draw straight lines and place it width-wise on the mattress. Take the tape measure or a ruler and without pressing it on the mattress, measure the gap to determine if it is more than 2 cm. It is very important that the measurement is made 8 hours after the last use of the mattress. If the retreat is beyond 2cm, you should check the suitability of the mattress base according to Fig. 4.

d) Make sure your base is uniformly flat (Fig. 4)

Make sure you use the right pillow for your mattress (Fig. 5) When the mattress firmness is soft the body sink is larger. In such case the distance between the shoulder and the neck is reduced so the pillow should be low-loft. When the mattress is medium to extremely firm, the body sink is smaller. In such case a high-loft pillow would be more appropriate.
